JOHN A. BAER
Senior Vice President, Development, Matteson Development Partners, Inc.
John Baer is responsible for overseeing all development activities for The Matteson Companies, including site location, land acquisition, zoning and entitlement efforts, contractor and design consultant supervision, and related activities. Mr. Baer is also active in strategic portfolio planning as well as general acquisition planning and implementation.
Prior to joining The Matteson Companies in December of 2004, Mr. Baer founded JMS Development Partners in 1996 for the purpose of acquiring sites in "infill" locations to be developed as multi-family apartment housing, retail centers, and commercial offices, with many projects containing a combination of the above. JMS Development Partners has been involved with 22 development sites in the Bay Area since its inception. Previously, Mr. Baer spent six years as a principal with Premier Properties, a real estate development and management company located in Palo Alto. During Mr. Baer's tenure, Premier Properties was involved in the acquisition, renovation and management of more than 40 properties. Prior to joining Premier Properties, John was a management consultant with the national consulting firm Booz Allen & Hamilton. John received his Bachelor's degree and his MBA from Stanford University.
